RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2025: Notification Out, Apply Online for 11 Vacancies

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially promulgated the recruitment notification for the Junior Engineer (JE) positions, encompassing 11 vacancies distributed across disciplines such as Civil and Electrical engineering, to be appointed at various RBI offices nationwide. Indian nationals possessing the requisite qualifications and fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications exclusively through the online mode. RBI Junior Engineer Eligibility Criteria:-

Junior Engineer (Civil):-

• Candidates must possess a minimum qualification of a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering obtained from a recognized Institute, University, or Board, with an aggregate of no less than 65% marks. However, a relaxation in marks is applicable, requiring only 55% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, or PWD categories. Alternatively, aspirants may hold a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks, which is further reduced to 45% for SC, ST, and PWD candidates.
• Additionally, the qualification must be supplemented by professional experience, mandating at least two years of practical exposure for Diploma holders and a minimum of one year for Degree holders in relevant domains of Civil Engineering work.

Junior Engineer (Electrical):-

• Candidates are required to have completed a three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized Institute, University, or Board, achieving a minimum aggregate of 65% marks, which is relaxed to 55% for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. Alternatively, individuals with a Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized University must have secured at least 55% marks, with a reduced threshold of 45% for SC, ST, and PWD categories.
• A professional experience criterion applies, necessitating a minimum of two years for Diploma holders and one year for Degree holders, specifically in the field of Electrical Engineering or related activities.

RBI Junior Engineer Age Limit:-

Age Criteria:

1. Applicants must fall within the age range of 20 to 30 years as of 1st December 2024, ensuring eligibility for the position.
2. Date of Birth Specification: Only those individuals born on or after 2nd December 1994 and on or before 1st December 2004 (both dates inclusive) are considered eligible to apply.

Age Relaxation:

1. A permissible relaxation of 5 years is granted to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
2. Candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category are entitled to an age relaxation of 3 years.
3. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) benefit from an additional age relaxation of 10 years over the applicable age limit.

RBI Junior Engineer Pay Scale:-

1. Basic Pay: The initial basic pay for the position of Junior Engineer is fixed at ₹33,900/- per month, which includes the base pay of ₹20,700/- augmented by nine advance increments applicable to Junior Engineers.
2. Pay Scale: The compensation structure follows a progressive pay band of ₹20,700 – 1,200 (3) – 24,300 – 1,440 (4) – 30,060 – 1,920 (6) – 41,580 – 2,080 (2) – 45,740 – 2,370 (3) – 52,850 – 2,850 – 55,700, with periodic increases based on increments as outlined.
3. Additional Allowances: Along with the basic pay, Junior Engineers are entitled to various allowances as prescribed and revised periodically by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
4. Gross Emoluments: Considering the inclusion of allowances, the current estimated gross monthly remuneration for Junior Engineers (Civil/Electrical) is approximately ₹80,236/-, subject to revisions and updates as per RBI norms.

RBI JE Selection Process:-

1. Online Examination:-

Candidates are required to appear for a comprehensive computer-based examination designed to assess their technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and overall suitability for the Junior Engineer role. This examination serves as a crucial component in the selection process, evaluating both theoretical understanding and practical aptitude.

2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT):–

Shortlisted candidates must also demonstrate their proficiency in the official/local language of the respective state or union territory for which they have applied. The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is a mandatory qualifying stage, ensuring that candidates possess the requisite linguistic skills to effectively communicate and perform their duties in the specified region.

For OBC/General/EWS Categories:

• Applicants categorized under Other Backward Classes (OBC), General, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) are required to remit a total fee of ₹450/-, supplemented by an 18% GST, encompassing both the examination fee and intimation charges.

 How to Apply RBI JE Recruitment 2025:-
